Baehrly Breathing by Elizabeth A. Reeves

I really enjoyed this book. The tie in with Goldilocks and the 3 bears was a nice little touch. I absolutely loved hearing about all the animals that Goldie was fostering. The little pink mastodon, 3 headed dogs, zombie roosters, dragons and more made the story so much more interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to the paranormal lovers out there. This book has magical creatures, witches, were bears and more.

Wild Justice by Liz Fielding

Felicity was desperate to find a way to save her radio station. She didn't trust Luke and was positive he had ulterior motives for helping her. Her sister and her father were both experiencing similar problems. Could they be related?

Although I did enjoy the story, I did have some issues with the plot. Melanie's story was just a bit  predictable. I guessed it about half way thru. Also, Luke's change was too abrupt. He just randomly overnight changed his mind with no real reason. Despite these glaringly obvious flaws, I still liked the story.

Winter by Marissa Meyer

The time for Luna citizens to revolt has finally come. Princess Selene is ready to take back her throne.

I loved this book. It really wrapped up the series nicely. I loved the little bits and pieces of the fairy tales that we all know and love. It doesn't seem like there is much left to do for this motley crew of cyborgs, androids, earthlings and lunars. There is one more book so I am looking forward to seeing what will happen next.

Fated Volition by A.L. Meinhold

This is the 1st book in the Sapphire Star Saga. There is a prophecy that tells of a war between twin princes. It also says that there will be 5 daughters born under a shooting sapphire star. Each daughter will have an elemental power-Earth, Wind, Air, Water & Water. Of course, there is a twist. One piece of the puzzle that wasn't mentioned in the prophecy. Danger lurks at every turn as the girls learn about their powers and try to restore the rightful prince to the throne.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read book 2. I have plenty of questions left that need answers.

Cross Roads by Wm. Paul Young

Wow! I decided to read this book because I loved The Shack so much. This book was just as good. There were moments that I wanted to cry and moments that I actually laughed out loud. This book is so deep and moving that you can't help but be touched by it. I don't think you can possibly read this or The Shack without it changing you a bit. Mr. Young did a wonderful job writing this book. The book really leaves you with a lot to think about. I will definitely be looking for more by this author.

To Love, Honor and Kill by Jenna Harte

This was a pretty decent mystery. The clues were placed out just far enough apart to keep you from guessing who the killer was until closer to the end. I would have rated it 4 stars except the beginning was pretty slow and I had a bit of trouble getting into it. Once I got into the story it wasn't bad. This book is definitely worth the read.

Be My Valentine by Debbie Macomber

My Funny Valentine: 4 stars
I loved this cute little romance. The poor guy has spent weeks trying to get this woman's attention and when he gives up she practically begs him to go out with her. LOL !! Gotta love the whole idea of this book. The matchmaking kids and mother just help the story-line.

My Hero: 4 stars
2 writers trying to make it and supporting each other through rejections. Bailey is struggling with the perfect male character for her romance novel. Then she sets eyes on Parker and decides he is that man. This leads to the 2 women stalking this man. LOL!! I love this story-line as well. Struggling romance writer and 2 time dumpee stalking a man around San Francisco to help her fix her manuscript.

These two romances by Debbie Macomber are perfect for reading around Valentine's Day. All you romance lovers out there will love this!

Blood, Milk & Chocolate part 1 by Cameron Jace

I really love this series!! Book 3 finally starts to tie everything together. You start to see more of the characters from the prequels. I can't wait to see what happens when all of the Lost Seven are reunited.

If you love all the fairy tales, then you will love this series. You have every fairy tale character ever made up. Of course, these are re-imagined so there are some twists. Even some vampires thrown in for good measure. Relive your favorite fairy tales in a whole new light. Trust me, you won't expect what you get!!

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

With all the hoopla around Twilight over the years, I guess I expected more. Or maybe it is because I read the Morganville Vampires first but this just didn't live up to my expectations. When I read Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires #1), I liked it so much that I chain read the entire series (and yes there a lot of books in that series). Twilight is okay in comparison. Edward just seemed too perfect and Bella too head over heels in love right away. Will I read the other books? Probably as this was not a bad book. I just hope the other ones hold my attention better. This one didn't really catch it until I was over 60% into the book (which is why it took so long to read it).

In Times Like These by Nathan Van Coops

What would you do if you suddenly found yourself in 1986? This group of friends does and they learn all about time travel and alternate time streams. Where in time would you choose to live?

I really loved this book. These friends face a lot of challenges in a short period of time. After all the bouncing around in time, they have choices to make. This book is definitely worth the read and I am hoping that book two is just as good.

Fairy Tale Confessions by various authors

This book is an anthology of remade fairy tales by different authors. All the fairy tales that we know and love are remade into new stories. I absolutely loved all the stories but I really liked Jacklyn and the Beanstalk. Some of the lines in that story had me giggling. If you love fairy tales or paranormal stories than you will love this book. There is everything from fairies to vampires in the many stories that are recreated. I borrowed this book but it is so good I may have to buy a copy now....

Wicked Werewolves by Rachel Humphrey-D'Aigle

I actually did enjoy this book. It took me a while to get the book though. Apparently, the author couldn't make up her mind what to call any of the books in this series. Book 1 has 4 different titles and this one has three. It made my head spin when I saw one title but clicked on the Amazon link and saw another one. Oh and if you look at the editions of the book, there are more titles all for the same book. Once I got past the confusion stage, I finally got a copy of the book.

If you like paranormal books, then you will enjoy this one. You have witches, vampires, werewolves and even a guardian. The story line is enjoyable and moves at a pretty fast pace. Will I read the next book in the series? Now that I know that each book has several titles, I think it will take me less time to find the next one.

Amethyst by Lauren Royal

I absolutely love the Chase family. I read one of the Regency Chase books a few weeks ago so now I have gone back to the beginning. I love how lighthearted and fun the family is. The practical jokes give the reader a more unique look at the family. I really can't wait to read more. I will be looking for more from this author!

Finned by Sutton Shields

I don't know what I expected when I picked out this book, but I certainly wasn't expecting this. Marina Valentine has the ability to read cards and predict the future. This gets her into trouble time and again. She is banished and sent to Saxet Shores, TX. This appears to have been her plan. Her new school seems to be working well for her until she starts to realize things are not as they seem.

This is a paranormal book. There are mermaids, mermen, some kind of angel and more. The characters are great. I liked Troy but I really liked Manakel much more for some reason. He wasn't featured a whole lot in the book but he always seemed to be there when he was needed. Dr. Tenly is another character I really liked. He is kind of like a absent-minded professor. He is really quite kooky and I enjoyed his character. As for Treeva, she is a hoot and a very unexpected character. This book has me intrigued and I plan to read more. I have to know what happens next in the Merworld Water Wars.

If you like romance or paranormal books then you will enjoy this because there is plenty of both. Also, if you were fascinated by stories of mermaids as a child, then this book is for you. I loved the vivid detail in the mermaid world. It made me wish it really was a place you could visit. I could vividly picture it in my mind.

Both Sides of Time by Caroline B. Cooney

This is a time travel romance. Annie is from the year 1995. She has a boyfriend who doesn't even notice if she is around or not. Then she falls (literally) back in time to 1895. She becomes involved with people in that time and becomes involved in a love triangle. The problem is that she is hurtled through time without knowing why or how. Will she ever be able to stay in one time period?

I love time travel romances and this one is a pleasant one to read. It does leave a lot of questions that I hope will be resolved later in the series. I am intrigued enough to continue on the journey.

Murder al Dente by Jennifer L. Hart

This was a pleasant mystery centered all around food. There are many pasta and sauce recipes throughout the book that made me hungry while I was reading. I may even have to try one or two of them sometime. The mystery wasn't obvious and kept you guessing until the end. This is the first time I have read anything by this author and it wasn't bad. I enjoyed it immensely.

Lost in Temptation by Lauren Royal

I was really in the mood for a good regency romance (getting into the Valentine's mood) so I settled down with this book. I was not disappointed. I loved how Alexandra was such a strong woman. She made up her mind and carried it through. She didn't settle for less than the man she loved and she was going to help him whether he liked it or not. Adding the mystery to the plot just added that little extra that made the story even better. I will definitely be looking for more by this author.

A Charmed Life by Rose Pressey

Halloween is back and she is better than ever. For some reason, her magic is no longer wonky. All her spells come out perfect and everybody loves her. Even her bed & breakfast is overflowing with customers. Her life is just about perfect but why does she feel like something is wrong? Of course, there is something strange happening. Her guests are accusing each other of some strange things and Halloween has no idea what to do.

I think this might actually be my favorite in the series. Her guests complaints are off the wall!! I am still torn between the two hot men in her life, Nicholas & Liam. Even poor Halloween can't seem to choose between them! I really hope the author continues this series.

Charmed, I'm Sure by Rose Pressey

Halloween and the gang are back with a new danger lurking. Her uncle is visiting and she has to "babysit" him while trying to find out what happened to the missing investigator that the council sent. Once again, strange things are happening and it is up to her as the leader to fix it all. Being the leader of the underworld sure has its ups and downs. Why is it everyone wants to be the leader? Oh that's right...they are power hungry.

I love this series and how many ways these power hungry witches try to take over. What are they gonna do next? Guess I will have to read the next book and find out!

I love this short story. It fits perfectly into the series. I love how this story was all about them having fun and trouble follows. It was a pleasant detour from having someone try and steal the book.

Third Time's A Charm by Rose Pressey

Halloween is the leader of the Underworld. For some reason, everyone wants her job and they are willing to do anything to get it. She has no idea who is trust worthy or not half the time. Especially when half the people she is dealing with were dead and she accidentally brought them back to life.

Just like the other books in this series, I found it hard to put it down. It is a quick and enjoyable read. I am ready to move on to the next book and see what happens next. You never know what her wacky magic skills will whip up in the next book!

Petrocelli by John Rachel

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is intense. It is fiction based on real, modern day issues of child trafficking and sex slavery. It is obvious that the author did some real research on the topic. I had to step a away a few times because the victims in this story (as they are in real life) are just children. This is a heavy read and I needed to take it in smaller doses.

I liked this book in that it was well written and obviously well researched. This is not my usual type of read but I am glad I read it. As much as some of us hide behind our own lives, these things really do happen in this world. This book is fiction but it is also very eye-opening. It is realistic, explicit and full of real world violence.

Opal Fire by Barbra Annino

I really enjoyed this cozy little mystery. Stacy is a reporter and a witch in denial. She wants nothing to do with the witchcraft her family practices. Then her cousin's bar is torched and bodies keep popping up. Stacy is determined to find out what is going on.

I love the bits of humor sprinkled throughout this book. Also, the whole witch in denial thing is a nice touch to the story. I was a but disappointed with Stacy's boyfriend. He didn't seem to trust her much and relationships tend to flounder without trust. I like how the author left a bit of mystery at the end to set up for the next book in the series. I will be adding this series to my reading list.
