I received this book for free from the author back in October and I promised to review it. I couldn't find it at the time because it was the first time anyone sent anything directly like that. I did get it on Amazon for free a week or so later so I now have two copies and I completely forgot about it until I found both copies recently. I am definitely kicking myself because this book had me hooked from the beginning. It draws you into Wendi's story and it is quite a story. I wanted to cry with the poor girl and hated the Garrett's as much as she did. I loved that she grew stronger over the course of the story. She was no longer the victim. I love strong heroines and Wendi is definitely strong. I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. It is a breathtakingly tragic book that highlights a real issue that many girls face in reality around the world. It was so well written that I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
