I really enjoyed book 7 of this series. Cindy and Timothy were so good together early on in the series that it was a bit disappointing that they were having so many problems. It was nice to see them work it out and finally get the happy ending that they deserve. As the Seraphine, Cindy always had trouble making her two worlds merge the way she wanted. Now that she is the Seraphim, I am anxious to see how she makes it work. Will she have to give up the bakery? This series has been absolutely delightful so far and I am looking forward to reading more of this series.

Forget all the fairy tales you heard growing up. They were all wrong! The ones you thought were the innocent ones are not quite as innocent as it seems. The "Goodies" have locked the "Baddies" in the Wicked, Ugly and Bad Mental Health Treatment Center and Maximum Security Prison. Well, at least the "Baddies" that are not their servants. Scarlett, Cinderella's step-sister has had enough. She thinks people are not all bad or all good and she dreams off a world where equality exists. First, she has to escape. Her "True Love" Marrok is determined to help her just to keep her safe no matter what.

I absolutely loved this book. I giggled and laughed my way through the wonderful antics in this book. The "Goodies" are not so good and the "Baddies" are not quite so bad. Marrok and Scarlett are definitely my favorite characters. The way Snow White was portrayed really made me laugh and Cinderella was as evil as they come. I have already obtained a copy of book 2 and I plan to read that next.

Ms. Gannon did it again. This book was just as good as book 1. Moody Prince Avenant is back to get his kingdom returned to him. This puts him up against Belle. These two just love to argue with each other. Does he tell the poor girl that he is head over heels for her? No, of course not. No, he argues with her and tricks her into a competition. Things don't go quite as he planned because the labyrinth is more dangerous than he expected.

I absolutely loved this book as much as book 1. Avenant and Belle are perfect for each other. They bicker and argue but it is only because they care so much about each other. Neither one wants to admit that they have a weakness. I really hope the author plans a book 3 because I really want to see what happens to Esmeralda after her trip down the rabbit-hole!

I picked this book up because of the title (it fit a Goodreads challenge) and I really didn't know what it was about. I was pleasantly surprised. This book grabbed my attention and didn't let go. From the conversation at the beginning with the doctor all the way to the big reveal, I knew something odd was happening. The book wasn't too obvious but there were subtle clues. However, you didn't get the full extent of what really happened until much later in the book. The author did a wonderful job in building up the mystery without letting too much be revealed until the end. I will be looking for more by this author.

This book was nothing like I expected. The concept of this book is that "happily ever after" is not all it is cracked up to be and those fairy tales did not happen exactly as we were all told. The "Golden Age" is over and people are paying the price for the choices made then. Cryptids (magical beings) are pitted against mortals because the mortals are taught to fear them. A mixed group is bent on righting these wrongs.

I really enjoyed the little "truth" bits of the fairy tales that were weaved into this book. This book has a bit of everything in it. There are magical beings, romance, war, racism (Cryptids vs. mortals) and the never-ending lust for power. I will be looking for more by this author.

This book starts with Macy, an archaeologist, whose ex-husband drops her daughter off unexpectedly before her expedition. She rearranges her plans and they head off together. They arrive in Tajeskastne and receive an unexpected welcome from a police inspector. She was provided a guide and supplies (she had planned to find all that but it was given to her first) much to her surprise. Despite her suspicions, they head out on the expedition. Danger awaits them at every turn.

I really enjoyed this book. It was nothing like I expected. Justinian was a total surprise. Who he is and where he takes Macy and her daughter was totally unexpected. I couldn't put this book down until it was finished. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Josh and Channie fight through it together though. I will definitely be reading more of this series.

I am intrigued enough to want to go back and read the other books (I actually do own book 1 but didn't realize it). My recommendation is to read book 1 and work your way up to this book. It isn't bad but I feel like I am missing a chunk of the story and I probably am.

This was a very interesting adaptation of the story we all know and love. I really enjoyed this version. Oh and how they linked the story of Cinderella to Snow White is really quite genius.

I was anxious to read this book. It merges two of my favorite Elizabeth Reeves series together. Cindy Eller and Goldie Locke are forces to be reckoned with in this book. They are both fighting for the greater good of everyone. The council of magic has been corrupted and it is time to break the barrier between Faerie and the human world.

I loved seeing the sisters working together. I have enjoyed both series to this point and would love to see series with the other sisters in the future.

I had a hard time getting into this book. Once I was able to get into the book it did get better. I liked how the she-vamps interacted together. They were not blood-related but would do anything to protect each other. The preachers were a bit of a surprise. They knew Metta was a vampire and didn't care. They treated her like a person instead of passing judgement. In most books or movies, the preachers wouldn't treat a vampire like that.

Will I read another book in the series? Probably. The 2nd half of the book was interesting enough that I would give the author another look.

I really enjoyed this book. Like some of the other reviewers, I did not like Danny at all. I love how the author chose to have the character try to stay as normal as possible. I laughed at her response to the vampire hunter. This series has a lot of potential. I am curious who Fang is so I will definitely be reading the next book to find out.

The Wishing Well by Holly Zitting

I had no idea what to expect when I started this book. I picked it based on the cover (it meets a challenge I am working on) and I was pleasantly surprised. Aurora is in a strange new world. She meets wonderful people that she cares about, including a young man that she falls in love with. Will she stay with him or try to get back home?

I absolutely loved this story. I love reading about all of the mythical creatures including a pegasus. I was cheering for Cassius and Aurora the whole time. I am looking forward to book 2 to see what happens and to see if Cassius & Aurora get their happily ever after.

Dead Man Calling (Undertaker Mysteries #1) by Kendra Ashe

What is not to love about this book? You have a reaper/witch/werewolf (yes, she seems to be a mixed breed), a werewolf, a were-gargoyle(?), witches and a talking monkey. I think my favorite character is Sir Edward (the monkey). This is the 1st book in the series and Jazz is still learning about her family and her gifts. I am intrigued to see where this series goes.

The Shadow Run by Desmond Lowden

I was pulled into this book immediately. I felt bad for poor Joffrey because nobody believed him. He tried to do the right thing and tell somebody. I was intrigued at how incredibly complex the heist was that these criminals were trying to pull off. It kind of reminded me of one of my favorite tv shows "Leverage". I will be looking forward to more from this author.

The Treachery of Time by Anna Gilbert

This book started off a bit slow but I was able to get into it more towards the end. The dreadful accident of a young child connected so many lives with the mystery of what happened to her. I didn't care much for Clary but in the end I kind of felt sorry for her. She just wanted a family of her own and that is why she hated Esther so much. Esther and Daniel are tragically kept apart by Clary's scheming. I kept hoping for them to get their happy ending.  I did have a bit of a hard time getting into the story. There were a lot of words run together instead of spaces in between. The story did draw me in a little bit later in the book. My Rating: 2 stars

The Silent Twin by Caroline Mitchell

This book drew me in right away and didn't let go. I was irritated with the way Joanna acted and I suspected Nick because of his secret. The whole Abigail speaking through Olivia was kind of creepy but added to the suspense of the book. There were a lot of secrets to sort through and I still didn't suspect the person that was responsible.

I really enjoyed this book. Once I started it, I just couldn't put it down until I knew what had happened. The author has a gift that draws you in and keep the tension going strong until the very end. This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly will not be the last.

Once Upon a Fairy Tale

This is a collection of short stories by many authors. I have a tendency to skip short stories because a good chunk of them leave me thinking there is something missing. Nevertheless, I decided to read this collection because it intrigued me. They have taken fairy tales that we all know and love and just gave them a little makeover. There is something for everyone in this collection. Overall, I loved this collection and I am giving it a solid 4 stars. I will review each short story and rate each one individually as well.**Please note that I received this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**

1. The Warlord and the Nightingale by Jeannie Lyn                                            2 stars

This story just wasn't really my cup of tea. It was ok. I felt that this story needed to be longer. I didn't really connect the characters in this one. A longer story might have helped me get into the story more. 

2. A Happily Ever of Her Own   by Nadia Lee                                                     5 stars

This short story pleasantly surprised me. Not only did I enjoy the story but I connected with the characters. I was really rooting for Edward and Melinda the whole time. This book actually felt like a longer book because you are drawn in so completely. I love how the author points out that happily ever after is not easy. You must work for it. I would definitely read more by this author. 

3. Kiss That Frog by Cate Rowan                                                                        4 stars

Wow, this was a beautiful version of the frog prince. I love how the author had the prince learn about current times while he was still a frog. Two hundred years of observation can come in handy for a person from a different time period. I was sucked into this book pretty quickly. The romance between the two did seem a bit forced, though. Overall, a really good makeover of the original story. 

4. Runespell by Sela Carsen                                                                                 2 stars

I felt like this book really needed to be longer. It felt like you didn't get to know the characters much. It isn't bad but definitely needs something more. 

5. After the Stroke of Midnight by Jennifer Lewis                                               4 stars

I really enjoyed this story. It was kind of funny that she kept disappearing before midnight, leaving the poor guy bewildered. This is definitely a new twist on the the story of Cinderella. I did feel sorry for the girl near the end, though. Guilt by association is tough but in the end it all worked out. I am a sucker for a happy ending. 

6. Braided Silk by Ella Drake                                                                                  3 stars

This is a pretty interesting rendition of Rapunzel. I like the use of technology to modernize the story. For a brief moment, I thought there would be no happy ending. Overall, I liked the story. 

7. Loving a Fairy Godmother by Danielle Monsch                                                5 stars

I absolutely loved this makeover of Cinderella. The author added an additional love story into the mix for the two FG's and it really made the story so much more interesting. I would so love to see a series about the FG's (hint, hint). This may actually have been my favorite story in this collection. I can't wait to read more by this author.

8. Love After Midnight by Dee Carney                                                                  4 stars

This story was kind of like a reverse Cinderella which really intrigued me. Instead of a glass slipper, she had his cuff-link and had to track him down. I would have loved if the book was longer and let the reader get to know the characters more. Also, I would love to know what happens next to this couple (maybe a sequel....?). 

9. Firebird Sweet by Elise Logan                                                                         5 stars

When I first started reading this story, I didn't know if I would like it. However, this book has so much packed into such a short story that you can't help but enjoy it. There are fae and magic and so much more. Vasalisa is tougher than I expected at the beginning and I really love a tough heroine. The horse, Gullfaxi, was a nice added touch to the story. Koschei is very arrogant and perfect as the villain in this story. He has a habit of underestimated people, which works out for the main characters. This story is non-stop adventure. It may be a short story but it packs the punch of a much longer book. I will be looking for more by this author.

10. What Big Teeth You Have by Jennifer Blackstream                                         3 stars

This was definitely an interesting rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. It was not quite what I expected but that isn't a bad thing. I really wish it had been longer. I think a longer story might have given that little nudge it needed to be great story. Overall, I did enjoy the story. 

11. Snow's Salvation by Cate Dean                                                                        5 stars

I absolutely loved this rendition of Snow White. Although, I have always loved fairy tales in general, I kind of thought Snow White was kind of wimpy. In this book, she is anything but. She fights for her life, her people and the man that she loves. She doesn't run away but goes back to the castle and launches an attack of her own. I really love a tough heroine and this story didn't disappoint. I would love to read more by Cate Dean. 

Fire and Ice by Dana Stabenow

This book had so much going on in it. The poor state trooper had his hands full from the moment he arrived in town. Oh the tangled weave of lies and deceit that abound in this book. It starts off a bit slow but does pick up later. It isn't a bad mystery but it doesn't grab you and hold your attention completely either. My Rating: 3 stars

Quinn Invisible by Amy Martin

A while back, I entered a giveaway for this book. I had never read anything by this author and the book sounded good. I won the giveaway and put the book aside since I had a pile I wanted to read first. I picked it up earlier this week and decided I needed to read it. I was not disappointed.  The mystery was not overly obvious. I did put part of it together but there was still one piece of the puzzle that I was surprised about at the end. I really enjoyed this book and I plan to read the next one and possibly a few more of her books.  My Rating 5 stars
