This book started off a bit slow but I was able to get into it more towards the end. The dreadful accident of a young child connected so many lives with the mystery of what happened to her. I didn't care much for Clary but in the end I kind of felt sorry for her. She just wanted a family of her own and that is why she hated Esther so much. Esther and Daniel are tragically kept apart by Clary's scheming. I kept hoping for them to get their happy ending. I did have a bit of a hard time getting into the story. There were a lot of words run together instead of spaces in between. The story did draw me in a little bit later in the book.
